Transform Your Mental Health with Ketamine Therapy.
Find Relief from Depression, Anxiety, and PTSD Today!
To rapidly and effectively treat depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health concerns.
When other forms of therapies have failed to address depression, anxiety and trauma, Ketamine Assisted Therapy can often provide a beacon of hope to help you get energized and motivated to take on your daily challenges. Ketamine is a safe, natural remedy that, when coupled with professional therapy, can greatly enhance your body’s resistance to depression and anxiety.
Ketamine is a prescription medication that has shown tremendous results in combatting depression, anxiety, chronic pain, PTSD, and a myriad of other mental health conditions.
Ketamine increases the neuroplasticity of your brain by ramping up the production of a crucial hormone called “Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor”. This hormone has been proven to revitalize the connections of neurons and decrease inflammation in the brain.
The majority of antidepressants currently on the market may take weeks, and in some cases months, before any results can be measured. Ketamine outshines all of these conventional antidepressants, producing positive results within hours to days.
While many other psychiatric medications are typically administered daily, ketamine treatments are far less frequent, which results in less stress on the patient’s life, fewer doses required for maintenance, and decreased probability of side effects.
Our patients’ improvements in motivation, mood, and outlook on life can be much longer-lasting than other antidepressant or counseling treatments.
We stay with you along every step of your journey, developing a personalized healing plan based on proven methodologies to help you break free of the mental chains keeping you from reaching your full potential.
Dr. Ari Aal, DO is a Denver native and Psychiatrist with advanced training in psychedelic medicine. He focuses on difficult to treat cases that have not responded to previous treatments. He believes that each individual has their own unique set of experiences, strengths, and challenges, and he tailors a treatment plan to suit each patient’s personal needs. From the rainforests of Colombia to the pages of the Wall Street Journal, Dr. Aal has advocated for the advancement of natural medicines and their healing properties. Prior to founding Delos Psychiatry, Dr. Aal served as Chief Resident at the largest private psychiatry hospital in Colorado.
Dan Ronken, LAC, LPC is a world class therapist that guides patients through their ketamine experience. He believes we are infinitely complex beings who have a need to feel understood, bond, and experience a sense of meaning in life. Dan’s approach is collaborative in nature and feels strongly that we have the inherent dignity, wisdom, and power to heal. In addition to his therapy practice, Dan serves as a Co-Lead for the Integrative Psychiatry Institute (IPI) Year-Long Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Training Program and has completed training in Psychedelic Medicine from the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute (PRATI).
Angela Joerin, LLP, LPPC combines a background in trauma based therapy, psychedelic guidance, and leadership coaching to create a superb experience for our ketamine patients. Before working with Delos Psychiatry, Angela worked with MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) and IPI (Integrative Psychiatric Institute) as a psychedelic therapist. Angela creates a deeply personal therapeutic experience for her patients, transforming trauma into awakening by diving inward to discover what is beneath the surface. Angela helps patients cultivate secure relationships, bond with the earth and ocean, and see clearly how they are worthy of compassion.
My ketamine therapy experience was truly transformational. The team made me feel comfortable and safe, and Dan was an amazing guide. I have my life back now, I’m able to live without fear or anxiety. I don’t know how I would have made it without this experience.

There are 4 ways to administer ketamine: Intravenous (IV), Intramuscular (IM), oral, or intranasal. We have found that intramuscular provides the most consistent dosing without patients having to have an IV in their arm as they do therapy. An IM shot is given in the deltoid (shoulder) muscle with a booster shot given if needed.
Ketamine assisted therapy works best for those who suffer from depression, trauma, anxiety, and those who are simply trying to self actualize. Ketamine may not be a good fit for people who have severe cardiac, neurologic, kidney, liver, or lung disease. It is not a good fit for people who suffer from psychotic disorders.
Patients first meet with Dr. Aal for an hour long medical and psychiatric evaluation to ensure safety. They then meet with their therapist for an hour long session to get know each other and set intentions. On the day of Ketamine administration, patients meet with their therapist and a nurse. After the nurse takes vitals and asks a few questions about physical symptoms, they administer the ketamine into the deltoid (shoulder) muscle. Patients then spend half an hour on their own journey and an hour and a half discussing and processing with their therapist. The therapist is in the room the entire time. A day or so after each Ketamine session patients meet with their therapist to integrate what they have learned.
We believe that set and setting are crucial parts of the psychedelic experience. "Set" means the mindset that you bring into your session, while “setting" is the physical setting where the experience happens. We pride ourself in making sure patients go into their sessions feeling safe and knowing what to expect. Our therapists are with you 100% of the way to guide you. Our offices have reclining couches, blankets, eye shades, snakes, and headphones to make the experience fun and comfortable.
The most common side effects experienced with Ketamine are nausea, dissociation and headache. Rarer side effects include hallucinations, fall risk, disorientation, temporarily increased blood pressure, vomiting, and bladder inflammation. Most patients experience little to no side effects, and our medical expertise helps to decrease the chances of serious side effects. We also provide nausea and headache medication that can be given during the experience if need be.
Besides attending your initial psychiatric and psychologic sessions, we recommend that patients not eat 4 hours before their experience. Patients must also agree not to drive for the remainder of the day and must have a ride home. They can drive again after they have slept that night. Do not plan anything emotionally intense (like dinner with your in-laws) for the day of administration. We also ask that patients not use drugs or alcohol within 48 hours of their experience.
Ketamine assisted therapy is not yet covered by insurance, but we can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance provider who may then reimburse you. Cost depends on which plan is right for you. We try to make our costs as reasonable as possible to provide this service to those who need it. We also offer financing through Advanced Care Card, which allows patients to pay over the course of 14 months with no interest.
